# Vision VPN

Encrypted network access, because on-chain privacy is not only on-chain

Vision VPN provides private, encrypted connectivity as part of the platform.

## Why a trading platform ships a VPN

Transacting on a **public, permanent ledger** from an unprotected connection links a pseudonymous
on-chain identity to a real network identity.

An observer positioned to see your network traffic, which includes your internet provider and
anyone operating infrastructure between you and the node you broadcast to, can correlate the
timing of a transaction appearing in the mempool with your IP address. Do that twice and the
wallet is deanonymised. The ledger then supplies the complete history of an address that is now
attached to a person.

Network-level privacy is therefore part of the threat model for on-chain activity, not a
separate product category.

## What it does

| Capability | Detail |
| --- | --- |
| **Encrypted tunnel** | Traffic between your device and the exit point is encrypted |
| **Provider blindness** | Your network provider sees a tunnel, not which services you reach |
| **IP decorrelation** | Reduces the ability to tie a broadcast transaction to your address |
| **Public network protection** | Meaningful on shared and untrusted Wi-Fi |

## What it does not do

A VPN does not make on-chain activity private
Blockchain data remains public and permanent. A VPN changes who can observe you reaching the
network; it changes nothing about what the chain records. Anyone analysing addresses still
sees every transaction.

It also does not:

- protect against a compromised front-end presenting a malicious transaction for signature;
- protect against phishing, because you are still the one signing;
- anonymise a wallet already linked to a verified identity through KYC or a card;
- prevent analytics firms from clustering addresses by on-chain behaviour.

A VPN is one layer. It is not a privacy strategy on its own.

## Using it

The VPN is available to platform users, with region selection and a connection indicator in the
interface. Connect before broadcasting if network-level correlation is part of your threat model.

## Acceptable use
